Maureen Denise McCormick, youngest daughter and sole child from Richard McCormick as well as Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills on 5 August 1956. Her mother was in the home and was an aspiring mother-in-law who was a stay-at-home mom. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three elder brothers. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing, and performing puppet shows. When McCormick was 6, she won a contest called Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. In the same year she appeared in a second commercial for the doll of Mattel "Chatty Caty" and soon was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the oldest daughter on the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch. McCormick was selected in 1969 among 1,200 youngsters to play the oldest of the three twin daughters on the TV show The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson and Robert Reed played newlyweds who lived in a household that blended. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick in her memoir"Surviving" Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice released in 2008, stated that, in the 5th season of the show, McCormick almost lost her love for her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was 16. This could have happened according to her. "But the timing for us was never the right one."
