Katja Herbers has been a professional musician since she was a young girl. She is the daughter of Vera Beths (violinist) and Werner Herbers (oboist). When she was a child Herbers was with her mother when she went to America touring with the chamber ensemble L'Archibudelli. Her father and mother both got married again, with her mother marrying Cellist Anner bylsma. She was introduced to the world of theater. Growing up, she had an au pair in Canada, and could learn Dutch German and English. Herbers attended The Ignatius Gymnasium which is located in Amsterdam. She was an Amsterdam University. During her psychology studies she went to the local theater school De Trap. Then she moved from Amsterdam to New York and went to the HB Studio.
